Since her rise to celebrity, Sofia Vergara has provided Hollywood with a refreshing and much needed break from the typically celebrated waif-thin look. Despite her great looks and elegance however, the celeb recently admitted she believes she looks like a hooker.
During the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Vergara shared some less-than-kind advice her father gave her regarding a career in Hollywood. “My father told me if I did anything artistic, I would look like a hooker,” said the star. The actress was, however, very frank with her dad about her appearance. “I told him, ‘With these huge boobs that I inherited from your mother, I already look like a hooker!”
Despite her father’s warning about being type-casted, Vergara has played respectable roles that have been far from risquè. On the ABC sitcom Modern Family, the star plays Gloria Pritchett, a hilarious and loving mother and wife. The actress has also been recognized for her work on the show. She was nominated for “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy” and helped the sitcom win for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.”
It appears Vergara’s father was quite erroneous in his predictions. While her looks are subject for envy, it’s been her knack for comedy that’s landed her in Hollywood’s A-list.
