The Colors of Love returns Off-Broadway September 25-28, featuring Royce Reed (VH1’s BasketBall Wives)!
Originally developed by the Black Latina Movement in late 2010 as a stage play, The Colors of Love confronts and discusses various issues that are prevalent in today’s relationships and provides a first-hand view into the intimate world of four couples.
The Colors of Love initially debuted off-Broadway with an all Black Latino/African American cast in early 2011. In summer 2011 The Colors of Love underwent development for its transition to the television screen (slated for release in early 2014). The “dramedy” delves deeper into the private lives of four couples.
Angela Brown and Jeffery Blackman; the youngest couple (early 20’s) dealing with the newfound challenges of cohabitating. Valerie Pinkette and Mark Pinkette; a married couple (in their mid 20’s to early 30’s) on the verge of making significant changes to their family composition. But as Mark’s biological clock is ticking away, Valerie is faced with an issue so pressing it’s bound to rock the cradle.
Brittany Green and James Rojo; the second unmarried couple (in their early to mid 20’s) who on the surface seem to have the ideal relationship but in reality are living with dirty laundry and skeletons crowding their closet. Melissa Grayson and Franklin Grayson; a career driven power couple (in their early 30’s) whose ambition has resulted in success in every venture except one: their marriage.
