Valentine’s Day: the most romantic day of the year. If you’re not part of a couple (or even if you are) there are many more people to show your love to on Feb 14th! You don’t have to spend a lot of money or even make a big deal! Just a tiny gesture can mean the world.
For your daughters: My daughters may be little but they love nothing more than being treated like big girls! Getting manicures and stopping for coffee makes them feel so special and is a great mother-daughter bonding time. Even making a breakfast together can be so special. Last year, we surprised our “men” (daddy and baby brother) with breakfast in bed. They loved it!
For your sister(s) and girlfriends: When life has me down, a night out with my girls is all I need! Make the time to treat your sisters or girlfriends to lunch and or a girls’ night out. If your sis or girlfriend is far away, send her something to make her laugh just so she knows you’re thinking of her.
For your mom and/or mother-in-law: Mom was your very first valentine. A mani-pedi session together (or splurge on a full day) at the spa is perfect for showing her how much you appreciate everything she does for you still. While it’s impossible to show her just how much she means to us, we can sure try with an Iris bracelet. She will feel and see the love every day on her wrist – and you can add beads and charms for other special occasions!
For babysitters, teachers and others who make your life easier: I know I’d never be anywhere without our neighbor! She is a gem: she carpools, babysits and even brings us freshly baked muffins. The gift may come from the children, but she’ll know it’s really a token of my appreciation! We always give a gift card to her favorite local restaurant where she loves to have lunch with her friends.
Take time this Valentines’ Day to spread the love!!
