One of Hollywood’s Hottest stars this year, the Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has had quite a year especially after her infamous divorce and personal love life after going single has made her a popular subject for all media outlets. However, before becoming the powerhouse Latina actress she is today Ms. Longoria was actually a makeup artist-in-training. And if that career ambition had panned out, Longoria would probably be making stars look good rather than simply looking good herself.
Appearing on the July cover of InStyle, Longoria is also featured inside the issue and tells the magazine how she despite having a fondness for all things makeup, “I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup when I was young,” and while this would have prevented any girl from touching the cosmetic trinkets, Longoria used her natural creativity to get around that ban when she would, “melt crayons and try to put them on my lips, and would use watercolors for eye shadow.”
Also within the interview, Longoria discusses everything involving her much talked about love life to enclosing personal tips to readers and disclosing her future as a Housewife. In regards to her love life, Longoria lets readers in on her personal outlook on her split from NBA star Tony Parker after the two had been together for 7 years, “One thing I did learn is you don’t hold on to the bitterness of the loss; you hang on to the beauty of the love. Remember all the good things. There was a reason you met someone and a reason why you were together.”
Relationships and beauty tips aside, one thing that may be on many minds is what is next for Longoria, although Desperate Housewives is far from being over, being picked up for an 8th season, Longoria can find a common ground with fans of the series when she says, “I hope Desperate Housewives never ends. I love this job. It’s so fulfilling,” and while she’s expresses her adoration for the show, Longoria could be going behind the scene when she adds, “I also love producing and being behind the camera. What’s in front of the camera rarely excites me as much as all of the magic of these people working behind the scenes.”
Well, whatever is next for the Latina nothing is stopping her since she’s a rising entrepreneur with ties in both literary and culinary worlds. The actress recently released her very own cookbook back in April entitled, Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for the Family and Friends. And the book shows Longoria isn’t easily afraid to tackle new markets, when detailing the process of writing the book she simply states, “I’m a cook—a dash of this and a pinch of that—not a chef. So to get the recipes out of my head and onto paper was really difficult,” so whatever is next for Longoria, she’s sure to tackle it on a continuing rising as one of the Hottest Latino stars.
