
Madelyn Rodriguez is a well rounded journalist with experience on television, radio and print. She is fluent in English, Spanish and American Sign Language. Rodriguez is an On-Air Personality and Reporter for the show Acceso Total that airs live Monday through Friday from 11:30am-12pm on Telemundo 47 New York, and also for the national and international English channel MUN2 of NBC. She serves as a talent for Univision Radio in New York which includes the radio stations X96.3FM, WADO 1280AM, and 92.7FM La Que Buena. Her voice can be heard on commercials, traffic, weather reports or reporting live from different locations throughout New York and New Jersey. Currently she is the talent of the popular Major World Autos commercial and half hour infomercial that airs every weekend on Telemundo at 9:30am, Univision at 8:30am and Telefutura at 8:00am.
Rodriguez started her journalism career with the magazines People en Español, Sports Illustrated Latino, Elle, and the newspaper Grupo El Nuevo (Jersey Journal Spanish Edition). Afterwards, she landed jobs at the CBS network in the newsrooms of The Early Show, National News, and the top-rated news show 60 Minutes, and was also a voice over talent. Her unique raspy voice often called sexy has been heard on New York City’s top Latin radio stations as an on-air talent on La Mega 97.9FM and Amor 93.1FM.
Rodriguez has covered stories on The United Nations, The Federal Law and Trade Commission, Adoption, Autism, Missing Children Organizations, Laws that Protect Undocumented Workers in the U.S., Hillary Clinton, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Pope Benedict XVI, just to name a few.
Rodriguez has appeared on Univision 41 as an on-air talent on the show Al Despertar, and for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital commercial. She has been the reporter of the big events of Univision Radio for X96.3FM and La Que Buena 92.7FM in which she had the opportunity to interview many famous celebrities. Other on-air television appearances include Telemundo in Boston, the international Dominican channel Telemicro, 24/7 Miami, and the Chilean Telethon in which she had the honor to give the welcoming speech to the former President of Chile Michelle Bachelet. She has also served as a judge for top local beauty contests.
Rodriguez has been a reporter and host of events for Johnnie Walker, Dewar’s, Given Liqueur, The Puerto Rican and Dominican National Day Parade, the Dominican international award winning movie La Soga, and numerous festivals and clubs throughout New York City.
Rodriguez was born in Queens, New York, from Dominican parents. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Print Journalism from Brooklyn College. She also took Literature graduate classes in Spanish at City College and studied American Sign Language at Lexington School for the Deaf to communicate with her deaf brother who is her biggest inspiration.
