As I’m seeing the video “Simply The Best” for the first time, I’m immediately attracted by both the tropical environment and the unapologetic fun styles and colors of their clothing, but then comes the real attraction. Which to me has a Latin Funk sound to it, a contagious beat and I love it! It’s a sound, a rhythm that is energetic, fun, colorful and just plain Happy!
The track has the band’s current lineup, consisting of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and J. Rey Soul, trading verses with Anitta & El Alfa, who both sing and rap in Spanish.
As the song goes on, we hear each artists give their own version of the track’s infectious chorus, singing “No it don’t get better than, better than this,” all behind a Latin inspired beat.
The official music video sees the Black Eyed Peas. Anitta and El Alfa perform their verses alongside a group of backup dancers. The video, shot in Los Angeles, this is a continuation of the band’s tradition of creating larger than life videos for each of their singles.
