This past Friday, The Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY, was buzzing with activity. A concert with two Hip Hop Icons in Ja Rule, and Fat Joe were the main attractions. They did not disappoint as they brought us back to the 90’s with several favorites.

Ja Rule, who was also filming his reality series, had MTV cameras followng him around. He started off first on stage reminding everyone of his Queens upbringing in Hollis, claiming the stage as his “home turf.” He also pleaded with those in attendance to look for thinking solutions to the police brutality controversies. He followed by producing a set that sounded impressively like his albums.

A meet and greet followed as Ja showed to be quite personable to his fans. Finally arriving after traffic issues, Fat Joe joined Ja Rule in his dressing room, filming for said reality series. Then Joe ran the stage in fashionable black leather pants and sweater lined by leather in front, which single gold chain prominently hanging from his neck and dark tinted glasses. He brought back a time where he mentioned earlier
“We stepped it up from my favorite period that included KRS-1, LL Cool J, Heavy D, and the Fat Boys.”
Plying out hits like “New York, New York”, with Ja Rule and “Lean Back”, and “What’s Luv.” Fat Joe pushed to exhaustion. Afterwards interviews and a meet and greet took the proceedings past midnight, but the fan experience was top of the tops. Look for the exclusive interview in upcoming issue of LatinTrends Magazine where Fat Joe discussed his role as as legend, music today, police protests, and new projects.
