Teen driver safety is a key component of State Farm®community outreach and driver and driver education efforts. For most teens, music is an inextricable part of their driving experience, and what better way to begin a safe-driving dialogue with young adults than through their passion for music? To this end, State Farm will be hosting Latino singer/songwriter, Gustavo Galindo, to serve as “Celebrity Music Teacher for a Day” at DeWitt High School. Galindo’s debut album “Entre La Ciudad y El Mar” is climbing the Billboard Latin charts and debuted as the #1 Latin pop album on iTunes. The artist will talk to a class of 50+ students about the song-writing process, share some advice about “making it” in the music industry, will co-write a song with the students, and encourage them to drive safely. The program will end with a Q&A and autograph-signing session for students and interview opportunities for media.
State Farm “Celebrity Music Teacher for a Day” is a multi-city program taking place in conjunction with the Latin Billboard Awards concert series, also sponsored by State Farm. As the State Farm featured celebrity musician, Galindo will team up with local State Farm agents to visit music students in high schools in: New York, Dallas, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.
