Talk about daring. A man trying to escape a 20-year jail sentence attempted to be carried out of prison in an overnight suitcase. The man – Juan Ramirez Tijerina – was curled up in the large bag in the fetal position. The luggage was being rolled away from the prison by his girlfriend, 19-year-old Maria del Mar Arjona, after a conjugal visit. Arjona was reportedly having difficulty maneuvering the large bag and that was her giveaway. Tijerina was initially arrested and convicted on an illegal weapons possession charge in 2007, and the sentence may get a bit longer. His girlfriend was arrested as well and her charges are pending.
