What did it take for Gilberto Santa Rosa to set foot in the United Palace? If your answer to this question was Anthony Rios, then you’re right. It’s hard to believe that this is the first time that “El Caballero de la Salsa” will grace the stage of the United Palace. Gilberto will be performing with ‘El Mas Completo de Quisqueya” Anthony Rios on October 8th, 2011. This is also the first time that these two legends of music will perform together.
At the press conference that was held at the 809 Restaurant and Lounge, Monday September 26, 2011 we had the chance t find out what Anthony and Gilberto thought about this “Encuentro”. It is obvious that these two giants of their genre are also fans of each other’s work. Gilberto Santa Rosa stated that he has been after Anthony Rios for quite some time for an event of this magnitude to take place. Anthony Rios spoke about how much of a gentleman Gilberto is. Neither artist revealed what songs they were going to be singing, whether it is salsa or bolero. When asked about this Anthony Rios said “when I think about singing with Gilberto Santa Rosa I don’t think about what style of music we are going to sing but that I’m going out there with a great singer to sing songs that the people enjoy.”
This historical event, which celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, will be hosted by Gloria B from Amor 93.1FM and el Jukeo’s Janeiro Matos & Joel Santiago, 97.9FM.
