Argentinian actress Mia Maestro , who stars as Carmen Denali in the fourth installment of the “Twilight” saga, “Breaking Dawn”, sang the only Spanish song included in the movie’s soundtrack.
Maestro song “Llovera”, or “It Will Rain”, can be heard in the film during one of Edward and Bella’s honeymoon scenes. The track is part of her latest album, which will be coming out next year. In a recent interview, the actress/singer stated, “…having a song in the film that is so precious to me gives me a creative outlet. It’s like a baby of mine in the film. I’m very fulfilled because of my music in it.”
The song is not Maestro’s first collaboration with music. The star has worked with singer Emiliana Torrini, British band “Faithless”, and Damien Rice, among other seasoned singers. Maestro was trained vocally in Berlin, where she also studied acting, dance, and music.
To the surprise of many, the actress was not a fan of the “Twilight” saga. In fact, she was not even aware of the book series’ existence until her audition. In a recent interview, Maestro stated, “I was not a ‘Twilight’ fan. But you do your research and you just do it.”
The actress will be reprising her role as Carmen in part 2 of “Breaking Dawn” in November 2012.
