New York Comic Con is the largest pop culture event on the East Coast. Hosting the latest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television. This was the ninth year NYCC has held their convention in the Big Apple. The convention was four days filled with exhibits, special guests, panels, merchandise and a Cosplay competition.
I was fortunate to attend some of the most anticipated panels such as “Game of Thrones,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Batman” with Adam West (The Original Batman.)
One of the disappointing aspects of the convention was the different wristbands you had to wait on line for if you wanted to participate in a particular panel. Many of the panels I wanted to attend occurred at the same time or there were not enough wristbands, which was the case for “The Walking Dead” panel. The convention didn’t open until 10 a.m. but all the wristbands were gone by 9 a.m. Even with a press pass I was not eligible to enter. And believe me, I tried everything! But that didn’t damper my “inner nerd” spirit.
This was my first ever NYCC and I am already excited to go back next year to celebrate their tenth anniversary October 8-11 2015. You can view some of my favorite Cosplay costumes in the gallery. Let us know your thoughts if you attended this year and if you will you attend again next year.
