Mi Gente de LatinTrends, as I often share, Entrepreneurship is key to turning our economy around. As a second generation Latina, the goal my parents had for me was to obtain a college education. Now, what I see to be the goal for the third generation, is to master money skills! Money skill mastery empowers you to be a consistant source of wealth generation for yourself, your family, and your global community.
Stay with me, I see a similar parallel with the non-profit sector! I admire the folks that for decades have rallied up financial resources and literally built foundations in developing countries and here in the US in the name of charity. However, as unfortunate as it might be, to raise money to build a physical building is often easier than raising the money to sustain the facility after the 3rd year of fund raising.
Here, again, is where I see the Global Entrepreneur to be able to step in and be a true catalyst of redesign. Moving out from being a foundation that depends on contributions solely; to being an operating facility run by an Entrepreneur with a social cause and skilled to continue the revenue generation!
A foundation that begins to bridge cause with sustainability is “All For Africa.” All for Africa’s Palm Out Poverty Initiativeis a unique project which includes the planting of 1 million oil palms in western Africa – creating agricultural jobs while also developing large scale physical infrastructure and social programs including schools, medical centers, recreational facilities, employee housing and clean water. As well as providing direct positive local and regional impact, he Palm Out Poverty Initiative is expected to create $700 million dollars in long term funding generated through the production and sale of palm oil. These funds will be utilized to develop programs, build capacity and create long-term sustainability for community level projects in clean water, community health, education, energy, micro-financing and skills training/livelihood creation.
Your contribution to the Palm Out Poverty Initiative will increase in value over 35 times! For example, a $1000 donation will generate $35,000 in funding!
On October 4th, All for Africa will be hosting a star-line-up event.
