No rain or thunder was shutting down this Must-See event at MSG. The concert opened with the Colombian sensation ‘J Balvin‘ performing his hit ” 6:00 a.m.” Fans sang to the molody as they heard the notes of his guitar echoing through the theater.

J Balvin since his initial debut still remains on top of the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart of Billboard. He has earned the loyalty of thousands of fans in all the Spanish-speaking countries.

Then with an amazing entrance filled with lights, smoke and dancers, Pitbull put the crowd in an uproar performing his biggest hits, including ” Fireball “, ” Timber “, “I Know You Want Me ” and ” Hotel Room Service”.

But who stole the night was Enrique Iglesias with his heartthrob seductive performance on stage of “Bailamos” , “Hero”, “Tonight” and ” Be With You”.

Short time before the concert Enrique spent some personal time with fans introducing ‘Adrenaline’. His first fragrance inspired by his desire for more excitement, more pleasure and more fun. What an amazing combination of Sex & Love and Adrenaline. Perhaps an early stocking gift for Xmas, huh?

Mourning The Loss Of An Entertainment Legend, JOAN RIVERS R.I.P. (1933-2014)

We have lost one of the greatest! Joan Rivers, the internationally renowned comedian, Emmy-award-winning television talk-show host, Tony-award-nominated actress, bestselling author, screenwriter, film director, columnist, lecturer, radio host, jewelry designer, cosmetic-company entrepreneur, and red-carpet fashion laureate. Many of us just know of Joan as a bold comedian who said what she had to say with “no holds bar.” But above it all Joan was a proud mother and grandmother.

Her daughter Melissa shared these words, “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends,” then went on to say, “My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.”

Her daughter Melissa, was her best friend, her confidant. The decision to remove her from life support, one can only imagine the heartache she endured. During this traumatic time Melissa was surrounded by close family and friends by her mother’s side. Joan’s private room was filled with flowers and the star’s her hair and makeup had continued to be done as this “Fashion Police” Queen would of wanted.

Joan Rivers you will be missed by all. Her charismatic sense of humor and moxie personality were just a few of the many amazing qualities that had her outshine the brightest light in this world.

RIP Joan Rivers

Beauty, Skin Care and Hair Talk with Carlos Otero

By: Deyanira Martinez

Behind the confident appearance and all the expertise of who today is a renowned makeup artist and celebrity stylist, there was a young man who over 20 years ago dreamed of fame and fortune. While living his native Puerto Rico, he dreamed of being famous in a big important city, like New York.

Today, Carlos Otero is one of the most recognized beauty professionals in the capital of the world. He has several beauty TV segments on local television and is the CEO/ founder of his own company, Latino Makeup Show. Sitting in the cafeteria of an important New York newspaper, Carlos speaks passionately about his plans, projects, beauty tips and trends in fashion and beauty.

Who is Carlos Otero?

I am a person who as a child had to learn to fight for what he wanted in life for personal reasons and taboos in Latino culture. I had big dreams and knew what I wanted. I’ve always been a person with determination.

How did you get to the beauty industry and begin working with celebrities?

It all started in Puerto Rico, Working for the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest. Luis Santiago took me under his wings, and I began working with personalities like Roselyn Sanchez, who was beginning her career at the time. The rest is history and I have been fortunate to work with numerous stars such as Lily Estefan, Jackie Guerrido, Cindy Taylor, Miss Universe and many others.

What is Latino Makeup Show?

It’s a company founded with the desire to highlight the work of stylists and makeup artists. We want to have the recognition we deserve and stop being ghosts that hide behind the show of great designers and famous models. This company also has a social role; we help patients of cancer and other diseases to look and feel beautiful. Offer training and workshops to prison inmates, we also provide night gowns, makeup and hairstyle to low-income students for their prom day. We are basically turning dreams into realities.

What makes you different and unique and why do so many stars prefer to work with you?

I am a perfectionist, sincere and direct with my clients. Having a very strong work ethic, I care about my reputation and the people I work with.

What are the current fashion trends?

We are in the era of keratin and natural styles. The multicultural hair: America is not white anymore; we now have new and different texture of hair, skin tones and physical features. Beauty professionals are challenged to learn from these mixtures of races and cultures.

What colors and styles are used in 2014?

We are now living the return of neon colors from the 80’s and modern and well maintained afros from the 70’s. Women now prefer natural hair, avoid harsh chemicals, wear soft makeup, and really care about their skin.

Tell us about the use of extensions being so popular among the rich and famous?

It is important to know that the scalp usually does not support the weight of the extensions without the risk of severe hair loss or alopecia. Over 33 million women suffer from Alopecia due to medical conditions, chemical products abuse or extensions. Stars like Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears have suffered from this disease. The hair extensions must be removed after six weeks; I strongly recommend the use of clips extensions, if you want a glamorous look.

What Beauty tips can you share with our readers?

• If you want beautiful makeup, take care of your skin
• Never sleep without cleaning your face
• Drink plenty of water
• Eat fruits and vegetables, your skin and your hair is a reflection of what you eat
• Leave the use of chemicals, dyes and permanent to the professionals, do not try at home

Carlos Otero’s track record, experience and work speak for itself. This outstanding professional is a down to earth person who does not forget all the people who have helped him through his career. He gets very emotional when talking about his mother, his family and “all these angels and special people that give me the strength and energy to be a better person, and to continue revolutionizing the world of beauty.”

Rosci Diaz’s Holiday Campaign for PETA

Entertainment Tonight correspondent Rosci Diaz is the new face (and body!) for PETA this holiday season. In the ad, the Honduran beauty is clad in a Brussels sprout bikini with the emblazoned caption “Let Vegetarianism Grow on You This Holiday Season.”

The ad was shot by top celebrity photographer Jack Guy and highlights how plant-based meals help human health, the planet, and animals. Diaz says she “physically felt cleaner and lighter” after she went vegetarian in college—once she made the change, she never looked back.

Diaz is part of a growing list of celebrities—including Alicia Silverstone, Joaquin Phoenix, Tia Mowry, Mayim Bialik, Alyssa Milano, and Casey Affleck—who have worked with PETA to promote healthy, humane meat-free meals.

Actor Paul Walker Dies in Car Crash

paul-walker-picture-5He is best known for his roles in ‘Fast and Furious‘ and ‘Hours’, but today, we say goodbye to actor Paul Walker. He died in a single car crash in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, November 30, 2013 and unfortunately, speed was a factor. He is survived by daughter, Meadow Walker. His close friend, Roger Rodas also died at the scene.

Walker was in route to the charity event Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), a non-profit organization that has volunteers with first responder skill-set that includes project management, logistics, EMT, paramedic and many others. Walker got involved with this organization because of the massive earthquake disaster in Haiti back in January 2010. According to the ROWW website, it states that Walker ‘saw a gap between the availability of skilled resources and the requirement for such personnel in post-disaster situations.’

The independent film ‘Hours‘, which is about a father struggling to keep his newborn infant alive after Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, is scheduled to be released December 13.

His latest appearance was to be in the upcoming movie ‘Fast and Furious 7’.

Jennifer Lopez payed tribute to Celia Cruz, whom the music world lost 10 years ago. Also, TLC and Lil Mama performed Waterfalls in tribute to Lisa Lopes or Left Eye, who also passed away about 10 years ago.

Countless celebrities presented the awards and introduced the performances. The presenters included Emma Roberts, Marc Anthony, Dave Drone, Michael Bolton, Heidi Klum, Fall Out Boy, Sarah Silverman, Christina Aguilera, Kendell Jenner and many others.

As with every awards show, there is always that one or two surprises and this show, was no different. As Pit Bull, who hosted the show, had four ladies come out and tweaked the dance moves of the decades. Unfortunately, for television reasons, the last lady was unable to show the last tweak due to inappropriateness, but the crowd seemed to have gotten a great kick out of the act. Of the many award shows for music and television, this seemed to be the most reserved of all of them, with the performers paying attention to quality who they are and not get racked up into ‘showing off’ or doing too much to impress the audience, but just enough to get the message across.

The legend is, La Llorona will kidnap wandering children who resemble her ‘missing’ children, or children who disobey their parents. Yikes!
