VIDEO: Latino Star William Levy In The ‘Single Moms Club’

Cuban-American heartthrob William Levy is trying his hand at comedy in Tyler Perry’s new movie, The Single Moms Club.

But the role is also bringing out his serious side. The Telanovela star tells El Nacional, “I grew up with a single mother and never had my father by my side. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this taught me beautiful things, and I learned what my children need from me.” In the movie, William plays “Manny,” a waiter involved with “Esperanza,” played by Colombian actress Zulay Henao. The two represent the Latino couple of a movie, that’s a comedy on the surface, but is really a tribute to single moms.

For professions like music, several questions are always asked by the fans. Where does the inspiration to create new music come from? What inspired you to go into music? Where can I find you performing next?

For musician Annette Aguilar, a simple radio was what got her into music, among other things. Performing solos, duos and quartets is what she enjoys doing now, yet how did she get there? Her band, Annette Aguilar and StringBeans rose to the top through hard work and dedication, not by a miracle. One of her most recent performance was at the Three Kings Day Parade that happened on January 6.

Annette sat down with LatinTRENDS to find out the answers from the questioning fans and shared with us, some photos and videos about her music.

Latin Trends (LT): What type of music does your band perform?

Annette Aguilar (AA): The type of music that we perform consists of Afro Cuban, Brazilian rhythms with Jazz Harmony and structures as well as more melodic styles via the Brazilian genre.

LT: What inspired you to go into music?

AA: What inspired me to go into music was because of the exposure of the radio and the presence of the Latin community that is what delves us into more music.

LT: What are you best known for when someone hears your music?

AA: The Sound of the early group and our recordings are from the Harp VIOLIN and Guitars, which is one of the main reasons I called the group StringBeans, due to Rhythm and Strings. Today, I work on a steady basis with a 4tet which I use piano, bass, vocal, percussion, violin, or trombone (instead of a lead vocal) and extra percussion. I always play duo on a weekly basis with a guitar and percussion in my neighborhood in the Inwood area of the city and the 4tet regularly plays here as well in Washington Heights.

LT: Where do you get your inspiration to create new music?

AA: I listen to many recordings and hear live music play on a regular basis. I also pull inspiration in from everyday life and what I put into practice.

LT: Where can people find your upcoming performances?

AA: My fans can find where I am performing on my Facebook page and on my website.
