Cuban-American heartthrob William Levy is trying his hand at comedy in Tyler Perry’s new movie, The Single Moms Club.
But the role is also bringing out his serious side. The Telanovela star tells El Nacional, “I grew up with a single mother and never had my father by my side. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this taught me beautiful things, and I learned what my children need from me.” In the movie, William plays “Manny,” a waiter involved with “Esperanza,” played by Colombian actress Zulay Henao. The two represent the Latino couple of a movie, that’s a comedy on the surface, but is really a tribute to single moms.
