Do you trust politicians, world leaders, activists? Do you go with the flow? Do you draw your own conclusions?
With today’s changing world, it is hard for people to decide who to listen to which story is a hoax to what is really the truth. So which generation: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennial, or are the most trustworthy?
It is natural, that people of their own generation will say that they are the most trustworthy because they know the most about it. Each generation has their own way of thinking and also they have their own way of viewing the world. But as time goes on, it is hard to know which generation to trust. The reason that trust is hard to come by is because of how many opinions there are about certain issues. Each person has their own point of view or heard the story from many different sources.
Baby boomers used to be on the top of the people that were the most trusted when they were in high school and Generation X was known as the skeptical slackers. It could be so because a lot of new technology was coming out like different small appliances to different forms of entertainment. The world was evolving in a way of out with the old and in with the new, but at a very slow pace.
Generation X lives in a generation where they were adopting what the Baby Boomers had already started. They are in some ways following the lead or being a leader in their own way. They are starting to see changes in laws and how people are living and maybe even their spending habits.
The Millennial Generation has the influence of the Baby Boomers and Generation X, but is being introduced to even more new technology. Something like ‘roll down the window’ may or may not have any meaning to them, but ‘now or never’ may have more meaning to it.
Since September 11th, the Millennial generation seem to have more trust and confidence in government related issues. They were able to see first-hand on how the United States, specifically the northeast, responds to such a dangerous threat. However, this may be the reason that trust in the world has gone down no matter which generation you are describing.
Trust has gone down in the world. So which generation is the most trustworthy?
