Do you love bacon as much as beer? Then you are in for a treat. Today and tomorrow Citi Field is hosting the third annual Bacon and Beer Classic.
The fest includes bacon dishes from over 40 local restaurants. Some of the eateries with the savory bacon dishes are Bareburger, Schmackary’s Cookies and Route 66 Smokehouse.
The ciders and suds are from 50 regional breweries. Gun Hill Brewing Co., Bad Seed Cider, and Speakeasy Ales & Lager are participating in the festivities
The event is tonight from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. (7 p.m. VIP), and tomorrow 1 pm. to 4 p.m. (noon VIP) or 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (6 p.m. VIP).
Guests will get the chance to do their best model pose at the photo booths, kill it at giant Jenga, bungee run and get beer/bacon inspired tattoos.
Let’s not forget that it wouldn’t be a foodies dream festival if there weren’t also a bacon eating and beer sipping contest in the mix. The lucky chef that wins Best Overall Bacon Dish will get the chance to help his/her restaurant go on to compete for the 2016 World Food Championship in Kissimmee, Florida.
General admission is $59, and VIPs tickets are $129.
There will be a donation of leftover food to City Harvest after the event is over to help combat hunger in NYC.
