The recent news of the disapearance of Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, 19, and her sister Sofia Trinidad ended in depression for a country as they were confirmed as dead and buried by a river near the city of Santa Barbara.
Maria, soon to be heading to London for Miss World 2014, and her sister entered a car without a license plate. It was reported that Maria’s sister’s boyfriend confessed to shooting them both out of a fit of jealousy. The mother Teresa Munoz’ statement may give a clue as to how they met their end. ”

Honduras, listed as the Homicide King worldwide, now see the death of a woman who had
“aspirations of a career in government, specifically as a diplomat.”
It’s a problem that now has the world spotlight on it now, but as Salvador Nasrahhah, a former presidential candidate mentioned.
“A lot of girls die this way, but because they’re not famous, it doesn’t get the attention and the crimes go unpunished.”
