Jean is taking a different route on this occasion. The Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and producer who has made the music or contributed to other projects in the music industry is releasing a single from his third and latest upcoming album called “Que Mas Puedo Hacer.”
Its a gift to his supporters. Jean was looking to produce something free without constraints to start this effort off. “I am giving this to the fans. Its an acoustic raw version of what you will see in the album.”
Jean has different reasons than most to draw on various styles in his music. But he is aware of the downfalls. “I am a music fanatic- I love different styles and have learned to adapt my voice to anything.” Jean explains.
“Its a Double-edged sword cause you can lose your way.”
The third album is an example of those type of problems as he juggles with a set line in an ever changing market. Its been somewhat of a challenge trying to find that fine line.” Jean admits.
“Its such a singles market now and albums are not as important.”
While Jean is working on this project, the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards will have his name attached to songs he has produced. “It’s a blessing to be at the producing level for a Prince Royce or a Yandel.”
Producing is not what brought him to music, but its a labor of love for sure. “Me singing and writing my stuff is the first priority.” Jean makes sure to confirm. “But I always loved to do production, I kind of fell into it. Its a complement when you are asked to produce another artist work.
The process of doing a song for an artist-seeing it through their eyes. I enjoy that aspect.”
Jean, as he has mentioned is just as important and the words that will define this album will come from a more peaceful place. “I am not pressing, just having fun this time, experimenting with different sounds.” Jean reflects.
“This album is all me. That’s the beauty of an indie market.”
For Jean, a father, the view is tinted in newer colors. “I’m blessed to be doing music full-time. When I was younger I wanted to be famous- I don’t think that way anymore.
If it pop’s its amazing, if not I’m having fun with the music, that’s Jean.
