At Washington Heights the flashes from the paparazzi’s cameras were illuminating the stars on the red carpet of the 2014 Dominican Film Festival.
Actors, directors and producers were all basking in the glory of the film festival’s third annual celebration that promotes Dominican cinema from Puerto Rico, Spain, United States and of course Dominican Republic. “Our Dominican films are having an impeccable moment and they are worth sharing on a larger platform,” said Armando Guareno, founder and executive director of the festival to the New York Daily News.
The Dominican Film Festival opened with “Al Sur De La Inocencía” by the young Dominican director, Héctor M. Valdez. More than 30 films will be played at the Alumni Auditorium at Columbia University Medical Center and the Hall of Fame Theater of the Armory Foundation.
