With “Fast & Furious 6″ being released in theaters this month actress Michelle Rodriguez, who stars in the film, has decided to say farewell to acting.
“I’m about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera,” she tells Cosmopolitan for Latinas in its Summer 2013 issue. “I got into this business to write. I’ve waited 13 years to actually do it. Do you know how painful that is? It’s very painful.”
The Puerto Rican-Dominican actress has starred in the “Resident Evil” franchise, the “Fast & Furious” franchise, and the ABC TV series “Lost.”
Rodriguez has had a number of run ins with the law including DUI’s and hit and runs, but assures us she is turning over a new leaf.
“I had some bad moments. I partied hard. The world knew it. I feel like my growth is a progression,” the artist says. “I go forward, and I’ve had times when I go back. Just last year I had a time where I had a bad stretch. I rebel against everything, including myself.”
The new issue of Cosmopolitan for Latinas is on newsstands now. “Fast & Furious 6” is set to hit theaters May 24th.
