The 6-foot-6 Dominican man, who was captured on video slapping the heck out of a young girl, said that he feared for his life and did it in self defense.
The video, which went viral in several hours after appearing on the online publication, World Star Hip Hop, shows the man, Jorge Pena, being verbally harassed, insulted and then physically assaulted by two women and a man. Pena, 25, retaliated with a slap in the face that sent the female a few feet back after the female hit him with a boot, according to the court documents.
Pena, a Dominican that arrived to the City four years ago, was arrested along with the two women and the other male after the altercation. After noticing that Pena was a victim and not the assailant, prosecutors dropped the charges on him. As of yet, the charges on the other three people have not been dropped.
Pena, who has a 20-month old son with his girlfriend and speaks with a heavy accent, told the Daily News that he feels bad that he hit a girl. “A man is never supposed to hit a girl,” said Pena, a part time bouncer that was traveling on the F train from a 12-hour shift around 4 a.m.
“She put me in a position that I had no choice. She tried to kill me,” Pena told the Daily News.
