Domestic violence is currently the leading cause of injury towards women, and 1 in every 4 woman will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.

It has been estimated that 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by a loved or intimate partner each year. While men can be victims of domestic violence, 85% of the victims are women. Women who are aged 14 to 44 have been victims of domestic violence. Victims of domestic violence are seen among various people regarding race, age, class, religious affiliations, and etc.
In the United States, 3 to 4 million Women are beaten in their homes by a significant other. According to gathered data 40% to 60% of police calls are domestic violence disputes. A victim of domestic violence would usually feel trapped, recluse, and helpless to do anything about the abuse due to fear and a sense of excusing her partner’s abuse as it being her fault.
There is help for victims of abuse. In the United States, there are an estimated total of 1,500 shelters for battered woman. Especially hotlines for victims or those who believe someone they love are in a violent relationship to call and get some help. Violence is not the answer.
