On July 22nd Latino superstars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed their second child a baby girl, today the baby’s name has been revealed as Luna Encinas Cruz. The selection of the name not only has Latino heritage but means a great deal to the couple.
In Spanish, Luna means moon meanwhile the baby’s middle name Encinas means “live oak” and according to sources the name comes from Javier’s paternal surname.
Born at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid, Spain baby Luna is the couple’s second child. Cruz, 39, and Bardem, 44, have a two-year-old son, Leo who was born back in Los Angeles back in 2011.
While figures of the public eye, the couple are highly protective of their private lives and want the best for their growing family. Back in a 2011 interview with Vogue, after the birth of their first child, Cruz told the magazine that “the fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”
