Karen Rodriguez has created a musical mix of talent, melody y esencia with her latest song “Reinas”…a perfectly blended fusion of songs from dynamic Latinas in music of the past and present.
In honor of Women’s History Month, singer/songwriter and former American Idol finalist Karen Rodriguez releases “Reinas: A Tribute To Latina Women in History.”
A medley of Karen’s favorite songs by the “reinas” she grew up listening to, “Reinas” pays tribute to several Latina artists like Celia Cruz, Jenni Rivera, Milly Quezada, Gloria Estefan, Olga Tañon, and Selena. “Reinas” is arranged and produced by Luis Gomez (Raulín Rosendo, Frankie J, Tito Nieves) and combines Latin music genre’s like bolero, salsa, tejano, and Latin pop.
Karen Rodriguez was born in Miami and raised in New York City. A finalist on the 10th season of American Idol, Karen blew audiences away with powerful renditions of “Hero” by Mariah Carey, “If You Had My Love” by Jennifer Lopez, “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars, and “No Me Queda Más” by Selena. Karen became the first bilingual finalist on the show.
Karen then sang background vocals on Marc Anthony’s #1 smash “Vivir Mi Vida” and co-wrote three songs with Romeo Santos for Formula, Vol 2; “Odio” featuring Drake, “Trust” featuring Tego Calderón, and “Gone Forever.”
In 2015, Karen released a Spanglish cover of Adele’s “Hello.” Her version of “Hello” has over 10,500,000 YouTube views, reached #5 on US iTunes Latino chart, #7 Billboard Latin charts, and became the #1 streamed Viral song on Spotify in Latin America. She followed up with an all Spanish cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” which premiered exclusively on SiriusXM’s Viva and Caliente channels.
