Kelly Osbourne don’t Preach…
After appearing on ABC’s The View, the progeny of rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s & fashionista gave an apology for comments she made while appearing on the talk show.
As guest host on the show Osbourne attempted to condemn Donald Trump for comments he had made earlier this summer about Mexican Immigrants being both criminals and rapists by stating:
“If you kicked every Latino out of this country then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?”
Osbourne then attempted to continue her thoughts, but was quickly interrupted by co-host Rosie Perez leaving her to issue an apology later online after having incited criticism for her ill-thought-out comments.
While Osbourne’s comment seemed to be mostly innocent aiming to silence Trump, unlike how America Ferrera did in her more thought-out & smart response to Trump’s comments, some took to Twitter to silent Osbourne; or at least correct her comment.
Under the hashtag “QueridaKellyOsbourne” which translates to “Dear Kelly Osbourne”, Latino twitters addressed their stories about being Latino in the country and their experience attaining an education, obtaining white-collar jobs, and so on to show that they are not all merely cleaners.
In-response to the feedback her comments attracted, the former-Fashion Police wrote in her online apology that she is in fact not racist and is taking sole responsibility for her “poor choice of words.”
“It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole,” added Osbourne, who then ended her statement claiming that she too cleans her own toilets. A true fighter of the people, plunger in hand and all…
