Edwin Mejia co-founded The Vladar Company, partnering with Vlad Yudin, in 2008 and has served as a producer on all the company’s films. He is responsible for creating and managing the production slate for The Vladar Company. He oversees in house productions, co-productions and plays a key role to help raise the company’s long term financing needs. Mejia was also responsible for producing and overseeing the acquisition by Entertainment One of The Vladar Company feature “Last Day of Summer” starring Nikki Reed, DJ Qualls and William Sadler. The film went on to have its theatrical release on September 17th 2010. Mejia is also responsible for structuring and negotiating an exclusive partnership with EMI Music and Sony Music, which will help promote the labels music catalogue through Film and Video. He also produced the biopic “Big Pun: The Legacy” based on the legendary Hip Hop Artist Christopher Rios AKA Big Pun for The Vladar Company. He later produced the soundtrack album “The Legacy: The Best of Big Pun” for Sony Music and The Vladar Company.

Prior to partnering with Vlad Yudin, Mejia spent over six years working on Wall Street in finance and operations. In 2002, he joined the portfolio management group at Smith Barney where he managed over 700 private and institutional accounts. Later in July of 2004, he joined Lehman Brothers where he managed the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Holdings. During his four-year tenure there he managed a P&L of approximately $4 billion of a debt and equity portfolio and quantified profits from whole loan originations, syndications and securitizations. Previously, he managed the funding of all warehouse lending facility lines of credit for the firm’s financing.

Currently, Mejia is producing “Catskill Park”, the Horror Sci-Fi/Thriller to be released in 2013 and “Generation Iron”, the bodybuilding Docu-Drama with producer Jerome Gary who produced “Pumping Iron.” Mejia will also produce HEAD SMASH the Action/Thriller Sci-Fi with Imprint Entertainment based on a Graphic Novel by Arcana Studio.
