The Havana Film Festival New Yorkhas reached its Quinceañera after celebrating Latin American Cinema for the past 15 years! Thursday was opening night at the Directors Guild Theater with the featured film Conducta a film by Director Ernesto Daranas.The red
carpet was rolled out for the featured actors of the film along with specialcelebrity guests.
Armando Valdes played Chala in the film who is a tough eleven year old boy who is living a harsh life in Cuba with his drug addicted mother but has a solid bond with the respected Maestra in the town Carmela played by the actress Alina Rodriguez. Conducta is a riveting tale about social prejudice and old views that need to reviewed. It also showcased the importance of education and insight of the views in Cuba. The film had all the aspects of an amazing, influential story. The story Conducta wanted to tell came across very clearly and was full of passion, laughter, and life lessons. The opening night after party was held at the Copacabana in NYC. The exclusive party offered musica, drinks and traditional Latin cuisine.
