The Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be the meeting point of the music industries finest when on August 25th 2013 when the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards takes over. Amongst such music artists like Lady GaGa, Justin Timberlake¸ and Katy Perry to name a few who will be attending the award show. Also in attendance will be some big names from the Latino music world, and out of the attendees one of them may be taking home the moon-man award and become Best Latino Artist of 2013.
And the nominees are…
Alejandro Sanz
The soulful Spaniard has a rocking raspy voice that leaves all tuning in. The singer’s ninth studio album entitled La Musica No Se Toca reached the tops of the Spanish and Mexican charts while landing the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Latin Pop Album list.
Daddy Yankee
Known as the King of Reggaeton, the Puerto Rican rapper has been a rising star since becoming big back in the early 2000s. The rapper currently embarked on a world tour taking the Latin vibes to country like Sweden and Italy.
Don Omar
Since dropping his hit songs like Zumba and Danza Kuduro, the Puerto Rican singer is still dropping new hits and earning new awards to his rising collection. The Latin superstar recently drew in a total of 10 nominations at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and won his nominations.
Jesse and Joy
Known for their heart-churning lyrics, the gold and platinum selling duo from Mexico have won a Latin Grammy for Best Song are a pair well-known in the Latin music scene as being one of the influential groups in the Latin music industry.
And rounding out the list of artists is…
Pitbull
Apart from a memorable name the Cuban-born, Miami-raised Mr.Worldwide is one of the most popular rapper to immerse from hip-hop by infusing his Latin roots into his music. Aside from intermingling hip-hop and Latino beats, the rapper is known for using both Spanish and English languages in his rhymes utilizing the power of Spanglish. Pitbull has worked with other Latino superstars like Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera with far too many to list here.
The MTV Video Music Award started back in the 80s to honor best music videos of those in the music industry. The first VMAs was held 29 years ago at Radio City Music Hall and since then has become one of the pivotal ceremonies of the music industry.
