Shakira is getting digital once again.
Last year, the Hips Don’t Lie singer released an app game aptly titled Love Rocks Shakira which received closed to a million installations but now the singer is coming out with another app devoted to educating.
After giving birth to her first son, Milan three years ago with Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, Shakira recalls turning to her mother, her mother-in-law, as well as the Internet for any advice on thing. Inspired by this, along with the birth of her second son, Sasha the singer decided there should be a new bilingual parenting app that will be helpful to all new parents.
“I wanted it to be something that wasn’t overwhelming, but that was really thorough and offered a rich variety of content,” said Shakira, about her parenting app she is launching with the aid of Fisher-Price, “With this app, you can simply use the daily age-appropriate tip or activity sent to you, or you can access the entire library of tips at any time if you’re looking for something different or want to focus on a specific developmental category that day.”
So, The Grow App was born.
Last year, information regarding the app was released and now at its launch there’s more insight into what the app has to offer. The program is filled with developmental tips, age-appropriate activities, and social media capabilities which enable parents to photograph or record and share all their favorite memories of their precious children and share with their friends as well.
“We started when he was 6 months old and he caught on right away. With Sasha, I’ve found that he’s really musical and has an innate capacity for it; he even plays the drums,” said Shakira, talking about her personal experiences of recording moments with her son and sharing them on Instagram & Facebook for all to see and share in these moments; thus proving the app’s usefulness.
“I’ve documented those moments and countless others. I’m a serial documenter,” added Shakira, who also recorded a video of her son Sasha kicking a soccer ball possibly documenting his first steps into following in his father’s footsteps.
Another integral part of the app the singer said it was extremely important was the app being available in Spanish because she wants the tools & tips offered to have as great a reach as possible.
“There are many mothers in Latin American countries that have less support than others that I want to help, even a small contribution.”
