Gabriel Iglesias is primarily known for his stand-up which has been screened on movie screens, posted online, and with a comedy special here or there on cable but now the “Fluffy” star will get a shot on the little screen.
Iglesias has just earned a pilot order from ABC for his new show entitled, “The Fluffy Shop” which will center around the comedian’s own life.
According to sources, the show will be scripted and will surly have the occasional improv when the script calls for it. There are even comments coming out stating the show will be quite similar in the way of Seinfield which loosely followed the real life of Jerry Seinfield.
While Iglesias has appeared on several other television shows—Cristela a short-lived sitcom on ABC—this will be the comedian’s first foray into a show centered around himself. And it is expecting to be just as funny, and racy, as the Fluffy man himself.
With routines that not only poke fun at himself, but also pokes fun at everyone one else, Iglesias’s show could very well draw criticism for its no-holds-barred style of comedy that can get people thinking or merely offend those who just don’t get it.
Having a prominent career on the road, Iglesias accredits his family for giving him the inspiration and much needed material for his stand-up comedy that will provide for a good source on his show that could be a perfect fit at ABC.
There has been no word yet on when we will see the Magic Mike star’s show go into production.
