On August 10, 2014 over 500,000 Dominicans are expected to fill the streets of 6th Avenue with pride and joy. The Annual New York Dominican Day Parade was established in 1982. Delegations from the Dominican Republic participate in the Parade’s festivities, which includes floats, music, dances and costumes symbolize unity, happiness and continuity of the Dominican community.
Our good friend and former cover model Henry Santos has been named for the first time in his career, the GodFather (El Padrino) of the the 33rd Annual National Dominican Day Parade 2014.
Very well deserved not only for his talents but he heavily works on fighting childhood obesity and teaching Latinos on how to obtain a healthier lifestyle, he also joined CHALK’s “Vive Tu Vida” campaign which is set to offer healthy food menus designed by him in local Latin restaurants in Washington Heights. From your LatinTrends family we congrugulate you.
Que viva la República Dominicana!
